Wedding At Bignor Park

A Spectacular Anglo-French Wedding at Bignor Park

Why You Should Hire our all-day Wedding Package in West Sussex

Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of providing the soundtrack for Kim and David’s beautiful, all-day wedding at the stunning Bignor Park in Pulborough, West Sussex.

The Ceremony
My day kicked off at 1:00 PM, ahead of the 3:00 PM ceremony, giving me plenty of time to set up our sleek, battery-powered white speakers on matching white tripods. As the congregation took their seats on a gorgeous September afternoon, I played a selection of welcoming music.
Because David is French, the couple chose a beautiful French song for Kim’s grand entrance. After they exchanged vows, they surprised me with their signing song—a Metallica ballad that turned out to be absolutely perfect for the moment. To wrap up the ceremony, they walked back down the aisle to an upbeat track, followed by Lady Gaga’s Born This Way. It was an instant hit—the kids in attendance were already jigging and dancing along!
Drinks in the Gardens
As guests moved to the gardens for drinks and nibbles, I easily relocated one of the wireless speakers to keep the atmosphere going with a seamless three-hour playlist. This gave me the perfect window to slip into the main function room and set up the evening disco and speech microphones. Our clean, all-white wedding setup blended seamlessly with the venue’s decor.
The Reception & A Surprise First Dance
While the background music set a lovely mood for the wedding breakfast, typical wedding delays pushed our timeline back a bit. Between the speeches being delivered in both English and French to accommodate the international crowd, things ran a little late—but it was absolutely worth the wait.
When it came time for the first dance, we had a very special twist. Kim and David’s 12-year-old daughter wanted to sing a Lady Gaga track from A Star Is Born. Using my Serato DJ software, I suppressed the original vocals, allowing her to take center stage. She completely nailed every single word while her mum and dad shared their first dance. The room went wild!
Party Time
After keeping the mood sweet with one more slow song, we cranked up the volume and the dance floor filled up instantly. Even though the delays meant I only had about two to two-and-a-half hours on the decks, these guys came to party. The energy stayed high all night, while others took a breather out by the venue’s fantastic fire pit area.
When 11:30 PM arrived, I announced the final song and wished everyone a safe journey home. The crowd sent me off with an incredible round of applause and cheers. It was the perfect end to a flawless day.
Onwards and upwards to the next one! Until the next blog, take care.
